Those of us who are lucky enough to read French have discovered a treasure : the novels of John La Galite.

 Imagine a writer who combines the punch of Hemingway with the sardonic and dark side of Hitchcock and the page-turning dexterity of Grisham and you have John La Galite, born Jean Michel Sakka in Tunisia, PhD in Molecular Biology and a former professor at the University of Paris.

Shrugging off the academic confines, Mr. La Galite plunged into his vibrant fictional world of haunting characters, suspense filled multi-layered plots and stunning imagery, for which he has received unanimous praise.

 If Mr. La Galite were writing in English, his novels would have quickly reached the best seller’s list. "Nirvana", "Zachary" or "Little Paul", for instance, are crying to be made into movies.

Plon, the prestigious French publisher, has translated many of Mr. La Galite’s novels in Dutch, Japanese and German but as of now not in English.
We can hope this omission will soon be remedied because Mr. La Galite’s novels deserve to be savored in the English speaking world.
Mr. La Galite works from various world locales (China, Florida). He is married and has a daughter.
