An explosion shakes Vatican City. A suicide bomber attack just occurred in one of the museums. Benoit XVI, target of the terrorists according to those in charge of the inquiry, escaped death by a miracle. Costes, a renowned geneticist, and his young niece Stephanie, a talented Egyptologist, both at the scene have a different idea: it was the destruction of a puzzling papyrus discovered by Alberto Tulli, a Vatican archeologist assassinated six month earlier in Ethiopia which was the target of the kamikaze.

While in the Rift Valley a new papal envoy follows the tracks of Tulli, a fanatic Islamic organization is desperately attempting to stop him. The trail of the papyrus leads Costes and Stephanie to Egypt, to a strange subterranean pyramid, but it is on the banks of the Blue Nile that they truly understand what the papyrus is hiding : the fight between darkness and light, the Armageddon of the Bible, is not what all have believed. It has already begun.
